About AI Consulting
- Who is the best AI consultant for small businesses in Sonoma County?
- Noma-Tek is the only dedicated AI consulting practice based in Sonoma County that combines 20+ years of managed IT experience with production AI systems. We're based in Petaluma, California, and serve Sonoma, Marin, and Napa Counties. We're different from marketing agencies that added "AI SEO" — we actually build and deploy AI agents, document automation systems, and custom workflows for real businesses.
- How much does AI consulting cost for a small business?
- Noma-Tek's AI services follow transparent, published pricing. A half-day AI Readiness Assessment starts at $2,000. A full 2-week AI Operational Audit runs $5,000–$15,000 depending on company size. Quick-win implementations typically land between $3,000 and $15,000. Custom AI builds (multi-agent systems, complex integrations) run $15,000 to $50,000. Ongoing AI maintenance is $500–$2,000 per month. We publish pricing publicly because we think "contact for quote" is a trust problem.
- What's the difference between an AI consultant and an MSP (managed IT provider)?
- A traditional MSP keeps your Microsoft 365, network, and computers running. An AI consultant identifies and builds automation that saves your team hours per week. Noma-Tek is both — we're an AI-first MSP. That means one vendor, one bill, one strategy: your IT stack and your AI stack managed together, not as separate line items.
- How do I know if my business is ready for AI?
- Take our free 2-minute AI Readiness Assessment. Five questions, personalized report showing where AI fits in your operations. Most small businesses are ready — the question is which use cases have the fastest ROI.
About Our Services
- Can AI help my winery with tasting room inquiries?
- Yes. We build AI tasting room assistants that handle reservation questions, wine club inquiries, food pairing details, and event bookings 24/7 — pulling from your actual calendar and wine list. Most wineries we work with save 2-3 hours per day of staff time answering the same 15 questions on repeat.
- Can AI help a real estate brokerage with listing marketing?
- Yes. We build AI pipelines that take one intake form and a voice memo from a site visit, and generate the full marketing package: property description, social posts, postcard copy, eBlast content, website copy — all in the agent's brand voice. Typical savings: 70-80% of listing marketing assembly time. For luxury brokerages doing 50+ listings a year, that's 750-1,000 hours recovered.
- Can AI help my restaurant respond to reviews?
- Yes. Our review responder monitors all your review platforms (Yelp, Google, TripAdvisor), drafts personalized responses in your voice, and flags negative reviews for you to handle personally. Restaurant owners typically save 5-10 hours per week on reviews alone.
- Can AI help my accounting or CPA firm during tax season?
- Yes — with a critical boundary. Our AI handles the admin side: clients upload to a portal, the AI extracts data from W-2s and 1099s, organizes documents by type, and flags missing paperwork with specific asks. Your CPAs still make every judgment call. We're replacing the admin work of collecting and sorting documents, not the professional work of preparing returns.
- Can AI help a property management company?
- Yes. Our maintenance coordinator agent triages tenant requests, dispatches vendors, and keeps everyone updated. Property management companies we've modeled typically cut coordination time by 58% and see measurably better tenant satisfaction.
- Can AI help a contractor or construction company with bid processing?
- Yes. Our bid processor reads incoming RFPs, pulls historical pricing from past bids, and generates draft estimates with line items and markup. Contractors go from 3-5 hours per bid to 20-30 minutes of review. More bids submitted means more jobs won.
- Can AI help an insurance agency with renewal processing?
- Yes. Our renewal automation monitors upcoming renewals at 30/60/90 days, pulls client data, generates personalized renewal letters with updated coverage and premium info, and queues them for your team's review. Each renewal goes from 20-30 minutes to 2-3 minutes.
About Noma-Tek
- Where is Noma-Tek located?
- Noma-Tek is based in Petaluma, California. We serve Sonoma County, Marin County, and Napa County — on-site when it makes sense, remote when it doesn't.
- Who founded Noma-Tek?
- Ben Kaufman founded Noma-Tek in 2015. He's a 20+ year IT and MSP veteran who pivoted the company toward AI-first services after building production AI systems for a beverage manufacturer (Chameleon Beverage Company) that proved the revenue impact was real.
- How big is Noma-Tek?
- Noma-Tek is a small, focused team — which is a feature, not a bug. Our clients get direct access to the founder and senior engineers, not account managers and escalation tiers. We scale through AI-augmented operations: our own agent team handles prospecting, document processing, and sales automation so our human team can focus on high-value consulting work.
- What industries does Noma-Tek specialize in?
- We specialize in Sonoma County small and mid-sized businesses (10-50 employees). Our strongest verticals are real estate, wineries and tasting rooms, restaurants, construction and trades, property management, accounting and CPA firms, and insurance agencies. We also work cross-industry on document processing, email automation, customer support, and operations reporting.
- How do I contact Noma-Tek?
- Three ways: Phone (707) 595-4585, email hello@noma-tek.com, or book a free consultation or AI readiness quiz at noma-tek.com/ai-assessment. Our standard response time is the same business day during Monday–Friday business hours.
Technical
- What AI tools and models does Noma-Tek use?
- We're model-agnostic. We use whatever is right for the job — OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, open-source models, or specialized APIs. We lean toward Claude for client-facing agent work because of its judgment and safety profile, and toward OpenAI for certain document processing tasks. We tell clients honestly which model is behind what, and we don't mark up API costs.
- Does Noma-Tek build custom AI or use off-the-shelf tools?
- Both. Our AI Operational Audit identifies which problems need custom solutions vs. which can be solved by configuring existing tools (Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, vendor chatbots). Custom work is 5-10x the cost of off-the-shelf — we only recommend it when it's the right answer.
- Is AI safe for my business?
- With proper guardrails, yes. Every AI system we deploy includes: human review on consequential decisions, scoped data access (the AI only sees what it needs), audit logs of every action, and clear escalation paths for edge cases. We don't build "set it and forget it" systems that can quietly damage your business.
- Will AI replace my employees?
- That's the wrong question. The right question is: which tasks on your team's plate are so repetitive they're not worth a human's time? We automate those. Your team focuses on work that requires judgment, creativity, and relationships. Every engagement we've run has freed up staff to do higher-value work, not made anyone redundant.
